The Story Behind the Creation of 4C Robotics & Repair

By Carl Faulkner, Jr. – Owner & Operator
One night when I was about 10 years old, I was staying at my grandmother’s house. I decided I wanted to draw, so I sketched a semi-truck and trailer. On the side of the truck, I wrote, “The 3 C’s – Lee Sr., Lee Jr., and Charles – The Faulkners.”
I wrote that because for years my father, Carl Lee Faulkner Sr., dreamed of starting his own trucking company and naming it 3C Trucking. The three C’s represented my dad, Carl Lee Sr., myself, Carl Lee Jr., and my brother, Charles.
Growing up, I always looked up to my dad. He has been my role model and the example of the kind of man, husband, father, and business owner I wanted to become. Even today, I often think about the lessons he taught me when making decisions in both life and business.
In 2022, I found myself at a crossroads. The company I was working for was closing its doors, and I knew I wanted to continue providing the robotic service and support that I had spent years building. I believed there was still a need for honest, dependable robotics service focused on helping customers succeed.
As I began planning the business, I thought back to my father’s dream of 3C Trucking. That memory inspired the name 4C Robotics & Repair. I kept the foundation of the original idea but adapted it to reflect my own path in industrial robotics. The fourth “C” was added to honor my son, Carl Lee Faulkner III, making the name a symbol of multiple generations of family.
From the beginning, I wanted 4C Robotics & Repair to be more than just a business. I wanted it to be a family legacy built on hard work, integrity, and service. Today, that vision continues through the involvement of my wife, Stephanie, my sons Carl III, Thomas, and Tim, and my brother, Charles. Together, we work every day to build something meaningful—not just for ourselves, but for our customers and the communities we serve. The family support extends even further, as my mother, Pat, and my sisters, Monica and Amber, have also stepped in over the years to help with jobs and support the business whenever needed. Their willingness to lend a hand reflects the family-first values that have been at the heart of 4C Robotics & Repair since the beginning. We are proud to be a truly family-built company, united by a shared commitment to serving our customers and building something that future generations can be proud of.
A key part of 4C Robotics & Repair’s foundation is our Mission Statement: “To provide excellent customer service to all customers, no matter the time of day or need. In all things, do what is right, even if what’s right is difficult, in an effort to ensure the customer is honored to the highest standard.” This philosophy was instilled in me by my father at a young age. Through his example, I learned that a person’s word matters, hard work matters, and treating people with honesty and respect is the right way to conduct business. My father taught me that doing what is right is not always the easiest path, but it is always the path worth taking. Those lessons have shaped not only who I am as a man, husband, and father, but also how I lead 4C Robotics & Repair. Every customer interaction, service call, repair, and project is guided by the values he passed down to me—putting people first, standing behind our work, and treating every customer with the respect and dedication they deserve.
Another important part of the 4C Robotics & Repair identity is the use of the American Flag and the Bald Eagle throughout our branding. These symbols are much more than artwork to our family—they represent values that have been passed down through generations. My father, Carl Lee Sr., loved bald eagles and had a deep appreciation for the United States and the opportunities that this country provides. He taught us to take pride in our work, respect others, honor our commitments, and appreciate the freedoms that allow individuals to pursue their dreams. To our family, the American Flag represents freedom, sacrifice, hard work, and the ability to build something meaningful through determination and perseverance. The Bald Eagle symbolizes strength, courage, integrity, independence, and leadership. These are many of the same qualities that my father worked to instill in his children and that continue to guide our family today. By incorporating these symbols into the 4C Robotics & Repair brand, we honor not only our country and those who have served it, but also the values that shaped our family and the foundation upon which our company was built.
This story, and in many ways the foundation of 4C Robotics & Repair itself, is dedicated to my father, Carl Lee Faulkner Sr., who passed away on March 14, 2023. While his passing left a void in the hearts of those who loved him, the values, work ethic, integrity, and commitment to family that he instilled in his children continue to live on every day. His influence can be seen not only in the way our family conducts itself, but also in the way we operate 4C Robotics & Repair. The principles he taught us—honesty, accountability, perseverance, respect for others, and doing what is right even when it is difficult—remain the guiding force behind our company. As future generations of the Faulkner family grow and become part of this legacy, we hope to pass those same values on to them. Through our family, our customers, and the work we perform each day, Carl Lee Sr.’s legacy continues to live on, shaping the future of 4C Robotics & Repair and serving as a reminder of the strong foundation upon which our company was built.
At 4C Robotics & Repair, we believe that relationships matter, trust matters, and doing the job right matters. Those values were passed down through generations of our family and remain at the heart of everything we do.
What started as a childhood drawing inspired by my father’s dream eventually became a reality of its own. Today, 4C Robotics & Repair stands as a reminder that family, hard work, and perseverance can turn a dream into something lasting.
